Creating and Editing Print Templates

This document will walk you through the easy steps to creating and editing Print Templates in ThinkReservations.

Creating/Editing a Print Template

  1. Navigate to Settings > Print Templates
    1. Click "Add" in the top right to start creating a new template, OR
    2. Click the template you wish to edit
  2. Assign a name to your print template - this will potentially be visible to guests if you choose to use it as an attachment on any emails, so keep that in mind when choosing a name.
  3. Choose if you would like to use a ThinkReservations template or make a custom template.
    1. ThinkReservations templates are templates we've created for your use to make your life simple. You can use these as-is, or download them and make modifications at your discretion (more on that in step #)
    2. Custom templates are templates you create in Microsoft Word, using our Personalized Variables as needed. When you upload the .docx file, variables will be replaced with real-time data from reservations. This option gives you ultimate customization to create any template you could imagine
  4. If you choose a ThinkReservations template:
    1. You're all set - just click Save!
  5. If you choose to use a custom template, you'll have the option to start with one of ours. To do this:
    1. Select the template you want to use as a starting point and click "Download."
    2. Next, edit the ThinkReservations template you've downloaded in Microsoft Word using Personalized Variables as needed, and save it when you've completed your modifications.
    3. Finally, upload your new custom document and click Save once you confirm the preview looks good!
    4. Should you need to edit this custom document again later on, you'll have the option of downloading it to edit and re-upload with your changes.
  6. If you choose to use a custom template but prefer to start with your own word document:
    1. Create the template using Personalized Variables in Microsoft Word and save (ensure it is a .docx file)
    2. Upload your document, then click Save once you confirm the preview looks good!
    3. Should you need to edit this custom document again later on, you'll have the option of downloading it to edit and re-upload with your changes.
